Put Some Teeth in Your OAC...OMAR

Most Lean Functions seem to have one way of accomplishing the task. If you take that approach with OAC you could be purchasing equipment that you don't need. Realizing the typical OAC process wouldn't work for our facility, deep cleaning would just be another sanitation task, we needed more. My process asks how do we bring the packaging equipment to the condition of a brand new line The speeds, The quality and the appearance. When you put together a Team of Operators, Line workers and Maintenance, and in just one week make an entire packaging line purr like it was brand new. It feels great looks great and the employees have a sense of pride when they hear everyone say: Wow, look what you guys did! This line hasn't run this good in 10 years.  I invite you to try Operator, Maintenance Asset Rejuvenation in your facility.

Key Takeaways:

  • Why should you try this process, could added a few more years to your assets
  • If you have a secondary packaging line that doesn't get all the attention that your Prime line does this is a chance to try out OMAR...     Operator, maintenance Asset Rejuvenation
  • What area or line makes the best candidate for Teeth in your OAC
  • Who should lead this type of event

Food Trends : The Beauty of Inspiration, The Agony of the Chase

Cauliflower Rice, Avocado Toast, Salted Caramel, Cold Brewed.. are these trends, fads, inspirations or a source of annoying hipster instagram pics?  One, two or all of the above?  Trends can evoke a lot of emotions and being in the business where they are an integral part of what we do as food manufactures can make them a source of joy or a generator of madness.  But, they can be tamed and even embraced - with the right perspective, tools, skills and mantras.  Whether your in a business that boldly aims to set trends, maintain a more traditional and steady approach, or somewhere in between, join me in untangling, deciphering and setting a course of action in product development with a keen eye on how trends play a role.

Key Takeaways:

  • Differentiate a trend from a fad - and gain an understanding of the pluses and minuses of both
  • Understand how to follow and stay up with trends (from Food Trucks to Web Influencers) without draining your brain and schedule
  • Incorporate trends into product development that make sense (and potentially only make sense to a minority of colleagues)
  • Explain how a product can stay relevant and profitable for years while following trends that are by definition fickle
  • Give trends their due; embrace the inspiration, motivation, excitement and positive energy that is generated when imagination becomes innovation
